If a voice is a body, and a body can be naked or clothed in different grains which communicate a character, a situation, and a connotation, what is the fashion statement made by pitch correction? Whose voice is heard in autotune? Is autotuning its own grain?
I'd say that yes it is its own grain, and like monotony, vocal fry, and up-speak, it is one of conformity, and one that carries with it the connotation of human beings corrected/corrupted by technology.
