Dionysiac: Animal Style by Jackal

"Dionysiac music in particular elicited terror and horror from them...In the Dionysiac dithyramb man is stimulated to the highest intensification of his symbolic powers; something that he has never felt before urgently demands to be expressed: the destruction of the veil of maya, one-ness as the genius of humankind, indeed of nature itself"

I interpreted that what Nietzsche meant by this quote is that the Dionysiac mode of music invokes a sense of violence within the listener through emotions such as passion and anger. Unlike Appoline music, which consists of calm and smoothing melodies, the Dionysiac produces harsh and violent sounds that Nietzsche attributed to as humankind's natural instincts, beyond the realm of reason. This song is a perfect reflection of that because it inspires within listeners an urge that "is stimulated to the highest intensification of his symbolic powers", that of an animal.
