Nietzche scrutinizes the fact that Wagner's art is over-excited, that it overtakes emotions and leaves its listeners asking for more of the same emotion, "... the convulsiveness of emotions, his over-excited sensibility, his taste which always which always asked for stronger stimulants..." (18). I find that Wake me up Inside by Evanescence is exactly the type of song that Nietzche would loathe. The song's lyrics appeals to emotion in an over-dramatized fashion.
Bring me to life
(I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside)
Bring me to life
Frozen inside without your touch
Without your love, darling
Only you, all the life among the dead
The lyrics long for a revitalization through love -- almost a romanticism that Wagner is known for. The lyrics are saying that life is "frozen" without emotion and that life needs more emotion in order to bring life out of its pessimistic existence.
