To me, Let it Go from the movie Frozen completely goes against Schopenhauer's belief that the richest, most liberating forms of art prompt the human body to ignite imagination; the song Let it Go is so statically attached to the film Frozen, that my perception of the song is with the movie Frozen.
Schopenhauer states, "... the very best in art is too spiritual to be given directly to the senses; it must be born in the beholder's imagination, though it must be begotten by the work of art" (99).
The incredibly strong association between the song and the film can arguably deter the imagination that Schopenhauer so strongly believes to be the key to escaping will. Thus, imagination is not begotten by the work of art, the music. Instead, strong associations between media and the song's lyrics, which are very visually tied to the film, are begotten by the work of art.
